Magellan Maestro 4700 Works great

I don’t know what i would do with out this GPS i’m in the Air Force and move around alot or go on road trips. I love how it has AAA info. on it i thnk that’s what like the best about it. Also i can type in walmart with a space or with out one and it pulls it up. it’s so easy to find what i’m looking for and the maps are great on it too.

Magellan Maestro 4700 Very Happy

I bought this to use in our other vehicles as I already have a guidance system in my pickup. I researched these things very hard before I bought my Magellan and I’m VERY happy with the 4700. In fact, I like it much better than the one that came in my 2008 Silverado. I have used them at the same time, just to compare and the Magellan wins hands down. Voice is loud and clear. The only con I have found is that the voice does get muffled when it gives a long, detailed instuctions. Actually, it’s kind of funny at times. I do like the lane instructions and the overhead signs. The display is crisp and clear and I really like how the map changes as I change directions vs. the one in my pickup that makes me feel like I’m driving backwards at times. Addresses are easy to enter or find. POIs are very easy to find. Love it and highly recommend it.

Magellan Maestro 4700 a REALLY good/great GPS, a great value for the money!

I want to first say that I have had three Garmins prior to this Magellan 4700. I have always been curious about Magellan but somehow always heard Garmin was the leader in GPS. The reason I bought this 4700 is I had/have the Garmin Nuvi 880 which about a year ago was the top of Garmin’s line and SUPER expensive. I like the Garmin very much but from day one it was a bit unstable…freezes a lot..need to take the battery in/out. The Garmin gave very little notice when quick turns were coming up..I missed SO many exits with the Garmin..I finally decided to try a Magellan, the 4700. WOW, I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use of this Magellan. The quick spelling THING works amazingly well and FAST! Most importantly the Magellan compared to the Nuvi 880 is just better for navigation and NOT missing exits..and NOT freezing. The Magellan gives a lot of notice before a turn is coming up..lane assist is quite helpful..and that little bell that will chime before a turn is also quite helpful. Really the only thing I miss most on the Garmin are the custom favorites YOU input will show how far they are from your current location and OTHER FAVORITES!. I am in sales, and had a new sales route given to me in the last year. I saved about 80 customers into the Garmin. Once on the road I could see how far customer A is to customer B and so on. The Magellan can NOT do this. You save your CUSTOM favorites to the address book in the 4700. But in the address book it never shows how FAR “each custom favorite is to the NEXT one”. It can only show your custom favorite’s location to your current location Not how far to the OTHER favorites you saved. Other than that missing feature..I LOVE the Magellan…it is stable and has been very accurate, gets a gps signal MUCH faster than all my Garmins did. One last thing..the voice in the Magellan is not as clear as Garmin’s..BUT it’s quite understandable and it TALKS much more than the Garmin. For the money I feel this Magellan is GREAT and = to the best Garmins or BETTER yet WAAAAY easier to use and in my case MUCH more stable. You really can’t go wrong with this GPS in my opinion.. I highly recommend this Magellan overall!
(PS if anyone knows how to transfer Garmin waypoints .gpx(favorites) into this Magellan I would love to know how…
